Michael Harner is the Founder and President of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. He is one oft best known international researchers and experts on Shamanism. He started in 1961 in the Upper Amazon among the Jivaro and the Conibo peoples. Later he worked in Mexico, Saamiland (Northern Europe), the Canadian Arctic as well as in tribal cultures of the United States.
